It is a four-Section Programme with three progressive levels:

Gold (16yrs +).

The Sections involve:

Service Expeditions
Skills Physical Recreation
Residential Project (Gold Award only)

These awards are now a part of the new Scout training programme. The Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a requirement of the Chief Scout's Diamond Award and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a requirement of the Queen's Scout Award. For further details on the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award sections visit the The Award website, for details on Scouting Awards visit the Scoutbase Awards page.

In the past, Wirral Scouts Expedition Group have tried to guide participants, not only through the expedition, but also through the other sections of their award. With the introduction of the new Scout programme, other sections of the award should be completed through the Explorer Scout and Scout Network programmes although Wirral Scouts Expedition Group will continue to offer guidance and support where possible. Our main aim now is to help members with their expeditions and expedition training.
