The Awards ...

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award aims to provide an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development for young people, which is of the highest quality and the widest reach.

It is a four-Section Programme with three progressive levels:

BRONZE
14 yrs +

SILVER
15 yrs +

GOLD
16 yrs +

The Sections included in each of these awards are:

VOLUNTEERING/SERVICE PHYSICAL SKILLS EXPEDITION RESIDENTIAL

These awards are now a part of the new Scout training programme. The Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a requirement of the Chief Scout's Diamond Award and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a requirement of the Queen's Scout Award. In the past, Wirral Scouts Expedition Group have tried to guide participants, not only through the expedition, but also through the other sections of their award. With the introduction of the new Scout programme, other sections of the award should be completed through the Explorer Scout and Scout Network programmes although Wirral Scouts Expedition Group will continue to offer guidance and support where possible. Our main aim now is to help members with their expeditions and expedition training.
