Easter 2008

What a weekend! The weather could not have been worse. in fact it was the worst weather I have seen in all the time that I have been running expedition weekends, and that is a long time!

As Easter was so early we had planned for the worst and it was a good job we did. We had rain, Sleet, Snow, Hail and Gale Force winds and every combnation of those you can think of. Despite all this the 35 participants who started the weekend were superb.

A great credit to all those on expedition that only two participants went home. The team spirit was fantastic throughout all the groups, as was the determination to succeed. A real credit to all those who took part and , I think, a testimony to the training programme that Scouting offers.

I am pleased to be able to say that all those on assessment have passed this part of the expedition and we look forward to seeing the presentations in the near future.

Let us hope that the weather in August is better than the weather in March and that we can add sun cream and lots of water to the kit list. Details of registration for this weekend will be published fairly soon so please 'watch this space'
